Personal Intro: As you can tell from my Discourse name, my name is James. I’m in my 40’s, married with three beautiful girls. I have been around IT my entire life, I started young by taking electronics apart and designing my own electronic circuits and PCBs. When I’m not spending time with my family, I’m constantly learning new things in IT; whether reading the latest technical advancements or tinkering with my own PCs and RPIs. I do my best to have a bit of knowledge in about everything IT; a “Jack of all trades, Master of none” mentality. I’ve spent time volunteering hours and my own resources to assist the LibreELEC project a number of years ago, managing the Jenkins server for their builds.

Professional Background: I work in IT, I’m an Application Systems Administrator; the level of attention and mindfulness to details and planning is held to a high standard. I’m involved with patching the application and servers to minimize security risks and to improve stability for it users. My role does require me to be available off schedule. What does that mean? There are times and have been times where I’m called upon throughout the night or weekend to address issues that may be minimal or that may be large in scale. That also involves planning of update/upgrades to the systems during off-hours. I’m engaged with many groups, individuals and vendors for support of the application and must be able to understand the technical details at the developmental level and be able to explain, speak and describe those details to others that may not have the technical knowledge or background.

Motivation: I love the MPH product and the team working on it. Their dedication and resilience to it and its community is amazing. I bought my first MPH shortly after the minting occurred and have had at least one since. I’ve accumulated 13 Hooli’s, just as many Zuckbots and a complete set of Zuck Corp items. I play the game when I have the opportunity and I have enjoyed the tournaments.
-
Potential Conflicts: I don’t have any conflicts of interest. I hold the minimal number of karrats to be eligible for nomination and the Hoolis and Zuckbots mentioned previously. I do not know anyone personally at AMGI or the karrat foundation.
If I’m elected, I believe that an outsider on the Security Council with my years of experience in IT and professional background will benefit the community.
