KIP-5: Building in Public: Enhancing Transparency and Community Engagement in Karrat Protocol

This proposal advocates for increased transparency and active communication from the Karrat Foundation and its partners. By sharing bi-weekly updates on progress and fostering open discussions in Discord, the proposal aims to enhance collaboration between the development team and the community, embracing the decentralized ethos of web3.

Motivation:

Web3 is grounded in the principles of openness, community involvement, and decentralized governance. However, to fully realize these principles, it’s crucial that the Karrat Protocol and its partners adopt a “build-in-public” approach. Consistent, transparent communication will foster trust, enhance collaboration, and encourage the community to actively contribute to the growth and improvement of the protocol. Moreover, this openness will strengthen Karrat’s identity as a truly decentralized and community-led project, further attracting talent, ideas, and users.

Rationale:

This proposal aligns with KARRATco’s mission to promote community engagement and decentralized governance. In an era where web3 projects thrive on community-driven development, it’s imperative for the Karrat Protocol to embrace an approach that encourages transparency. Building in public not only strengthens trust within the community but also provides valuable feedback that can improve the protocol and related projects. Furthermore, this level of openness is essential to the web3 ethos, where users and developers should have insight into the decisions and progress of the projects they support.
